Microsoft has had to issue an emergency update to address a vulnerability in the .NET framework.
The security update comes ahead of the next scheduled Patch Tuesday announcements and makes it the 100th update of 2011.
The patch addresses a flaw that could allow hackers to exploit hash tables to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack against a website built with Microsoft's ASP.NET application framework.
The bulletin, MS11-100, was announced yesterday, 29th December, 2011 and is classed as critical.
